in with the new

This Easter, go down to river island and grab this cute bee necklace for £4.99. Try clearing out your old clothes that don't fit or you don't like anymore. You could pass them down to your younger sister or get creative and make something out of them. (For some great, crafty ideas, check out Cut Out + Keep.net) Buy a whole new look for your wardrobe, and have fun this easter (don't eat too much chocolate),

Grammys 2011- Rihanna

Rihanna at Grammy Awards
This is the dress that Rihanna wore to the Grammys this year, it's quite revealing, but beautiful and feathery. I found a shirt with a similar pattern in River Island for only £24.99 and a shirt in H & M for only £14.99.
Look out for other posts on who wore what at the Grammys

The Cat Eye

The best style of makeup ( I think ) is the cat eye. It's beautiful and really makes your eyes stand out, it makes you look a bit more mysterious or exotic. If you don't want to do the tiny flick at the edge of the eye, then just outline the eye with eyeliner, this way you still have the effect, just without the hassle of trying to make even and straight flicks.
All you need to get the look is;
  • Liquid/Pencil Liner
  • Mascara
  • optional: False Lashes

Vintage girl

Check out this week's model, Nat. (remember her? :) Here she models a vintage/60s style dress, and to the left, a bright t-shirt with shorts- the perfect, fashionable beach wear! If you saw my earlier post about Lauren, you'll see that this is the same style as her.
Nat always dresses fashionably, cute shoes, hats, anything- as long as it's cute- she'll be wearing it.
So, tell me, what do you think of her style?

The Individual

You don't always have to follow the trend. You could go for something different. This post was requested by Hannah, who's seen in the pictures below. She doesn't always follow fashion trends, but likes to dress comfortably- 'why is she on this blog' you ask? well because she made an amazing dress (featured below), called 'OBSESSION'.

Nude shoes

THE shoe! Nude shoes are gorgeous and pretty much go with anything. I had a vision of the most beautiful nude high heels in my head and went out to find them. I looked on every shop website that I could think of and came up with a few you might want to look at.
Next- do plenty but I thought you'd like to see these; Nude Platform- £25.
Miss Selfridge- these are a combination of Brogue and nude heels- my fave Nude-Brogue Court shoes- £15

KIPLING

Don't you just love kipling? There's always someone with that cute pencilcase or messenger bag. I own one of the back-packs and I just love it! They do so many patterns and colours, however, the bags are a little pricey- totally worth it, though for that cute monkey. Check out the KIPLING website here.

Willow Camille Reign Smith

Born: October 30th 2000
Parents: Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith
Famous for: acting alongside her father, her new song
Debut single: 'whip my hair'

It seems like performing is in the Smiths' blood, since Willow and her older brothers Trey and Jaden are in other movies too. Jaden has recently been the star of 'karate kid', a martial arts film starring Jackie Chan.
Willow was signed up by Roc Nation (Jay-Z's label) and produced her catchy song 'whip my hair', in which the music video shows her with odd hairstyles, spraying paint everywhere. This song is very catchy and everyone's talking about it.
Willow, wearing D&G
What do you think of her FUNKY hair-do's? Are they cooler than Lady Gaga's? Comment below.
They look like they're having fun!
heart-hawk; how on earth did they manage to do that? looks AMAZING!

Prada Infusion d'Iris

Prada have a gorgeous fragrance made from iris roots, That sounds a bit strange but the perfume certainly isn't! It has a deliciously floral scent which is light and delicate. It may be a beautiful product but the price tag is a little heavy for my pocket money.
The perfume is yours for around £34 and comes in a 50ml bottle perfume spray and also a body lotion.
Check it out at The perfume superstore
Here is the product being advertised below:

All new converse

I love converse, they've been around for ages but they're so cool and funky that it doesn't matter! Rockstars and celebrities are constantly spotted wearing them.
Their latest winter style is the converse 'wrapping paper' sneakers. Here's an example -->
Converse wrapping paper, silver, low

If you're interested in buying some check out the converse website. They come in blue, pink, silver and black. There are also different styles like LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH. I think they're a great investment and colours like black will go with most outfits and will look cool at parties. I think the best thing about converse is when you own a cool pair that no one else has- it looks individual and funky.

All Star shimmer XX-Hi, cranberry
How about these converse- I really want these for christmas, they're called All Star Shimmer XX-Hi. Click on the link to visit the website. What do you think of them? I think they'd go nicely with a dress for a night out. They come in cranberry, olive night and black.

What do you want for Xmas? Post below, hopefully someone will see it..probably not..unless Santa reads this ;)

Xmas Parties- what & what NOT to wear

If you're going out to a christmas party and there's someone special there..let's say your brother's friend's older brother...or something like that- you're not going to turn up wearing some old polo-neck or a christmas jumper with Rudolf on are you? Also, if you've been invited by your brother's friend's family, so your parents are going to be there, you can't wear anything..too revealing or short.
I'm going to show you how to plan your outfit through the course of the evening, making sure you're not too cold or sweltering under those layers.

ARRIVAL
You can't make an overstatement and come in full makeup, tinsel in hair style can you, but you can't go wearing casual attire. Just add a tint of mascara, maybe a pinch of glitter and a dab of pale eyeshadow. You could perhaps curl your hair into ringlets (if you have straight hair like me) or straighten it (if it's curly).  I know it'll be cold and snowy outside so you definitely need a warm winter coat. Sadly, if you have done something to your hair, you don't want to wear a hat or hood to mess it up, so you have to be careful. Gloves are essential otherwise you could get dry hands! You could wear a cute scarf that goes with your outfit, but it only needs to match your coat because you're going to take them off as soon as you walk in.
You need:
-hand cream (just in case)
-suitable shoes for snow (gumboots, uggs, or you could bring a change of shoe)
-warm, cute winter coat
-scarf ?
-gloves
-tiny bit of makeup

STARTERS
Well done, you've inevitably made it this far, now we move on to seating arrangements. You see, if they've put place cards  down telling you where to sit, this shan't apply to you; You need to get close to that special someone. I mean- what if they sit at the opposite side of the table?! does that mean they DONT like you, or that they DO but just don't want to show it. Whatever happens- I'm sure you'll be able to talk with them after dinner when your parents are drinking coffee together.
Ok, calm, you probably wont be able to sit at the ends of the table, because that's where the parents sit, but make sure you're opposite or diagonally opposite the SS (not secret santa, but Special Someone). This is turning out to be a complicated chess game...but try and sit away from your parents, and opposite him k?

THE FOOD
No SS likes to watch someone slurp up their food in a rush, eat messily or spill it on themselves. Although that  could be a good move to get to the kitchen with  them alone. You could spill your water over them by 'accidently' knocking it over when reaching for the gravy. That way you could appologise as  much as possible, this is also good at telling whether they like you or not. If they do, they probably wont care, and they'll be trying to make you feel better about the accident. If not..then they will probably be in a grump with you and avoid you at all costs.
Act like a lady- if someone asks you about what you're doing at school, show off your latest achievements (not like- 1st place readathon or 3rd place spaghetti and marshmallow tower building...) Try to flaunt your skills, par example; best french essay in the year, your team won the swimmathon that sort of stuff.

AFTER DINNER ENTERTAINMENT
I know the title is a little...suggestive but don't fall into the trap! Don't!
After dinner and dessert, the parents usually drink tea/coffee together while the kids-teens go off. At the Xmas party I went to, they had lots of fireworks, lots and lots! This provided going outside in the cold, huddling up to one another while watching romantic fireworks in the snow. Yes, the perfect , ideal, great, amazing opportunity for you and that SS to get together. Just stand near him, not too close or he'll suspect you. If they have a humongous garden, try sitting alone in the corner- not too much for your parents to think you're acting antisocial or loner-ish, otherwise they'll sit next to you :O that would be soooo embarassing. Maybe there's a play room where all the kids go off to inside, where the TV is on with the latest episode of a game-show and there's a huge plastic-ball fight going on between the 10 yr olds...you could get involved, for a little fun. (this DID happen to me, and it was AWESOME.ys, that's coming from a teenager...)
Just act like yourself, and make sure you wrap up warm :D

gOD, this is a loooong post, better not make it any longer... thanks for reading it all the way thru..or not to those skim-reading people!

Statement Earrings this season

I don't know about you but I <3 Earrings! They're SUCH a fashion accessory and make any necklace consistent throughout the outfit. This season's earrings are polar opposites, BIG, bold, strange dangly earrings, and small, statement studs. Here are some Celebs rocking cool earrings...

If you want some, check out river island.
Do you not have your ears pierced? I only had mine pierced a year ago and I definitely am  glad I did so. I enjoy earrings so much, and almost all my friends had it done at the same time. I got so many earrings and I really enjoy wearing them, (and going shopping for them). If you already have your ears pierced- I reccomend  visiting Claire's they do so many cute earrings for such a great value! Make sure you serilise them before wearing otherwise you could get an infection in your holes.

What do you think of Statement earrings this season? Are they here to stay or are they just a small trend that'll disappear in smoke.
Thanks.

Goodbye!

Hi,
As Gaby has said, I've decided to leave this blog, because even though I loved being a part of it, I just decided to make my own - try something new. So this is the last post of mine, and I hope you continue to appreciate Gaby's fashion sense and great advice. :)

Lots of love,
N
