in with the new

This Easter, go down to river island and grab this cute bee necklace for £4.99. Try clearing out your old clothes that don't fit or you don't like anymore. You could pass them down to your younger sister or get creative and make something out of them. (For some great, crafty ideas, check out Cut Out + Keep.net) Buy a whole new look for your wardrobe, and have fun this easter (don't eat too much chocolate),

Grammys 2011- Rihanna

Rihanna at Grammy Awards
This is the dress that Rihanna wore to the Grammys this year, it's quite revealing, but beautiful and feathery. I found a shirt with a similar pattern in River Island for only £24.99 and a shirt in H & M for only £14.99.
Look out for other posts on who wore what at the Grammys

The Cat Eye

The best style of makeup ( I think ) is the cat eye. It's beautiful and really makes your eyes stand out, it makes you look a bit more mysterious or exotic. If you don't want to do the tiny flick at the edge of the eye, then just outline the eye with eyeliner, this way you still have the effect, just without the hassle of trying to make even and straight flicks.
All you need to get the look is;
  • Liquid/Pencil Liner
  • Mascara
  • optional: False Lashes

KIPLING

Don't you just love kipling? There's always someone with that cute pencilcase or messenger bag. I own one of the back-packs and I just love it! They do so many patterns and colours, however, the bags are a little pricey- totally worth it, though for that cute monkey. Check out the KIPLING website here.

Willow Camille Reign Smith

Born: October 30th 2000
Parents: Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith
Famous for: acting alongside her father, her new song
Debut single: 'whip my hair'

It seems like performing is in the Smiths' blood, since Willow and her older brothers Trey and Jaden are in other movies too. Jaden has recently been the star of 'karate kid', a martial arts film starring Jackie Chan.
Willow was signed up by Roc Nation (Jay-Z's label) and produced her catchy song 'whip my hair', in which the music video shows her with odd hairstyles, spraying paint everywhere. This song is very catchy and everyone's talking about it.
Willow, wearing D&G
What do you think of her FUNKY hair-do's? Are they cooler than Lady Gaga's? Comment below.
They look like they're having fun!
heart-hawk; how on earth did they manage to do that? looks AMAZING!

Prada Infusion d'Iris

Prada have a gorgeous fragrance made from iris roots, That sounds a bit strange but the perfume certainly isn't! It has a deliciously floral scent which is light and delicate. It may be a beautiful product but the price tag is a little heavy for my pocket money.
The perfume is yours for around £34 and comes in a 50ml bottle perfume spray and also a body lotion.
Check it out at The perfume superstore
Here is the product being advertised below:

Xmas Parties- what & what NOT to wear

If you're going out to a christmas party and there's someone special there..let's say your brother's friend's older brother...or something like that- you're not going to turn up wearing some old polo-neck or a christmas jumper with Rudolf on are you? Also, if you've been invited by your brother's friend's family, so your parents are going to be there, you can't wear anything..too revealing or short.
I'm going to show you how to plan your outfit through the course of the evening, making sure you're not too cold or sweltering under those layers.

ARRIVAL
You can't make an overstatement and come in full makeup, tinsel in hair style can you, but you can't go wearing casual attire. Just add a tint of mascara, maybe a pinch of glitter and a dab of pale eyeshadow. You could perhaps curl your hair into ringlets (if you have straight hair like me) or straighten it (if it's curly).  I know it'll be cold and snowy outside so you definitely need a warm winter coat. Sadly, if you have done something to your hair, you don't want to wear a hat or hood to mess it up, so you have to be careful. Gloves are essential otherwise you could get dry hands! You could wear a cute scarf that goes with your outfit, but it only needs to match your coat because you're going to take them off as soon as you walk in.
You need:
-hand cream (just in case)
-suitable shoes for snow (gumboots, uggs, or you could bring a change of shoe)
-warm, cute winter coat
-scarf ?
-gloves
-tiny bit of makeup

STARTERS
Well done, you've inevitably made it this far, now we move on to seating arrangements. You see, if they've put place cards  down telling you where to sit, this shan't apply to you; You need to get close to that special someone. I mean- what if they sit at the opposite side of the table?! does that mean they DONT like you, or that they DO but just don't want to show it. Whatever happens- I'm sure you'll be able to talk with them after dinner when your parents are drinking coffee together.
Ok, calm, you probably wont be able to sit at the ends of the table, because that's where the parents sit, but make sure you're opposite or diagonally opposite the SS (not secret santa, but Special Someone). This is turning out to be a complicated chess game...but try and sit away from your parents, and opposite him k?

THE FOOD
No SS likes to watch someone slurp up their food in a rush, eat messily or spill it on themselves. Although that  could be a good move to get to the kitchen with  them alone. You could spill your water over them by 'accidently' knocking it over when reaching for the gravy. That way you could appologise as  much as possible, this is also good at telling whether they like you or not. If they do, they probably wont care, and they'll be trying to make you feel better about the accident. If not..then they will probably be in a grump with you and avoid you at all costs.
Act like a lady- if someone asks you about what you're doing at school, show off your latest achievements (not like- 1st place readathon or 3rd place spaghetti and marshmallow tower building...) Try to flaunt your skills, par example; best french essay in the year, your team won the swimmathon that sort of stuff.

AFTER DINNER ENTERTAINMENT
I know the title is a little...suggestive but don't fall into the trap! Don't!
After dinner and dessert, the parents usually drink tea/coffee together while the kids-teens go off. At the Xmas party I went to, they had lots of fireworks, lots and lots! This provided going outside in the cold, huddling up to one another while watching romantic fireworks in the snow. Yes, the perfect , ideal, great, amazing opportunity for you and that SS to get together. Just stand near him, not too close or he'll suspect you. If they have a humongous garden, try sitting alone in the corner- not too much for your parents to think you're acting antisocial or loner-ish, otherwise they'll sit next to you :O that would be soooo embarassing. Maybe there's a play room where all the kids go off to inside, where the TV is on with the latest episode of a game-show and there's a huge plastic-ball fight going on between the 10 yr olds...you could get involved, for a little fun. (this DID happen to me, and it was AWESOME.ys, that's coming from a teenager...)
Just act like yourself, and make sure you wrap up warm :D

gOD, this is a loooong post, better not make it any longer... thanks for reading it all the way thru..or not to those skim-reading people!

Statement Earrings this season

I don't know about you but I <3 Earrings! They're SUCH a fashion accessory and make any necklace consistent throughout the outfit. This season's earrings are polar opposites, BIG, bold, strange dangly earrings, and small, statement studs. Here are some Celebs rocking cool earrings...

If you want some, check out river island.
Do you not have your ears pierced? I only had mine pierced a year ago and I definitely am  glad I did so. I enjoy earrings so much, and almost all my friends had it done at the same time. I got so many earrings and I really enjoy wearing them, (and going shopping for them). If you already have your ears pierced- I reccomend  visiting Claire's they do so many cute earrings for such a great value! Make sure you serilise them before wearing otherwise you could get an infection in your holes.

What do you think of Statement earrings this season? Are they here to stay or are they just a small trend that'll disappear in smoke.
Thanks.

Goodbye!

Hi,
As Gaby has said, I've decided to leave this blog, because even though I loved being a part of it, I just decided to make my own - try something new. So this is the last post of mine, and I hope you continue to appreciate Gaby's fashion sense and great advice. :)

Lots of love,

How to wear a dress- Winter

How to wear a dress in Winter. I used to only wear those jumpers and warm trousers each Christmas. Now I can rock the dress look, while keeping snug and cozy. All you need is warm leggings and a cardigan. You could also wear a shirt underneath the dress- but make sure they match- you can't go wearing any old shirt with a simple dress.
First Picture shows me wearing my black H&M dress with H&M leggings and...oh an H&M cardigan. That whole 'same-store' thing was totally unintentional. But I guess a shop is going to have some consistent style. For example you can't wear a topshop cardigan with...an a certain all saint's shirt can you? You see? totally mis-matching styles. Sometimes someone can totally pull the whole thing off, wearing an original, cool and funky outfit, but most of the time it fails :)..
Next Picture shows me wearing the H&M leggings, a Next military cardigan and a Next stripy dress. I think the first colourscheme was a 'cool-blue' style and this one is a 'pink-parisian-chique' style.
Which do you prefer? Comment below! Thanks

Also- take pics of YOU rocking the winter-dress look. I'd like to see how much I've helped you! Thanks, followers.
Bye

Interview with Hannah

19:48
I interviewed Hannah about her blog with Suzi boys, boys, BOYS! It's a great blog, really funny- described as A guide book to boys. Amusingly coloquial.  It has 15 votes for "I loveee it!" on her blog! Which is definitely a lot for a blog that's only been around for a month! I'm sure some of YOU have read or at least SEEN her blog. It's funny, interesting and clever ;) taken from girls with experience.
Gaby: RED
Hannah: BLACK

----------------------------------------Interview-------------------------------
Hi Hannah!

oh right!
It's a blog about boys, I guess. That is pretty self-explantatory..

I've been hearing a lot of great feedback about it! It's one of those information filled, exciting, and funny blog posts, where do you come up with the ideas?

one word. Experience.
;)
let me tell you a bit about myself
I've fallen 12 times for the male species.
I have learned a bit each time and now I put my knowledge into practise so young girls wont make the same mistakes I did.

that's really nice of you <3 so what's coming up soon? a sneak-peak of your future posts? to get the reader wanting more?

I have to tell you, I don't even know! I make it up on the spot.

Thanks so much for your time Hannah!

Brogue- the dusty classic

(Sorry I can't put up all the pictures)

Brogue- eh?Thought to be mens shoes but they're so girly when jazzed up with some floral patterns, gold paint or cute laces! When I first saw the style of these shoes I didn't know what they were called but I knew they'd be fashionable. I think there are THREE main categories of brogue shoes. Here they are...

1) THE CLASSIC BROGUE
The classic- cute, they might be hard to match to an outfit, but they look authentic and vintage when worn properly! Here are some links to these classic brogues I found...
Topshop £52
River Island £49
Next £14 (kids shoes)

2) ANKLE-BOOT BROGUE

So feminine, so cute and SO girly! I think the floral pattern just improves these shoes- making them look more antique and cute. If they're plain black, why not add a nice floral ribbon-lace? They look absolutely GORGE! So get out and buy some to go with a cute LBD, or a lacy dress?

Next £50
Office £67

3) THE BOOT BROGUE

No more Dr.Martins! Not with these beauties! They are Dr.Martins with Brogue thrown in! I can't believe it! They look agressive, cool AND girly!

Office £92
Top Shop £68

So, Enough of Brogue, I think another fashion coming up are the studded clogs. Not THOSE studded clogs, that are in your mind, FASHIONABLE clogs :)
Have a look and change your mind about clogs.

Top Shop £60
Next £26 (kids)

Just Relax!

When it comes to that time of the year when you have loads of exams, or are reaaaaaaaaally busy? yeah- that's the time when you should spend the most time relaxing. If you don't many baad things can happen to you-
You are
-tired all the time
-your moods change for no reason
-you cant concentrate
-you cry over almost everything
-you can't sleep properly
-you get loads of headaches
-you're unenthusiastic
-you are hungry a lot
-you can get an olsar in your mouth
-you can even get spots!!!

So make sure you can take the time, after your strenuous hours of revision to chill in a hot bath, fill with luxurious scents of bath bombs and that posh shampoo your friend got you for your birthday. I know it sounds weird, it's not just an excuse for time off! Do you WANT to be a freak- with mood swings and hungry a lot, and spotty? oh...I guess that's what a teenager is all about..but would you like to make it worse? NO! NO is the answer. unless you said yes which is reallly weird....So don't just work- remember some people still call you a child- so act like one, (no! as in have some relaxing time, and fun once in a while) otherwise you'll be a boring old adult with good exam results and who doesn't have a life (im not suggesting you'll be boring or NOT studying is good OK?) THIS IS NOT A CARD TO GET OFF STUDYING! You must study or you'll be a fail in life- and you DONT want to fail an exam!!!! So...rather than me stressing you out right now- just go take a bath, or have a face mask, or meditate or read or whatever! Go relax- then come back and do some more work.

Thanks

Thinking about Xmas

Yes, Teens, it's that time of year when the wrapping paper sees the light from the dusty garage, the sparkly cello tape is untangled and they hunt for presents around shopping centres is here!!!
I'll be showing you some great presents for you and your family RIGHT HERE!
Have you ever wondered what on EARTH are you going to buy your friends this christmas? Yes? You're not alone. I think that as christmas approaches, we start to go slightly mad, not focusing on what we need to do get or organise for the big day. Yes, we definitely go slightely mad...Maybe it's also thanks to the lack of snow, the weather men telling us how 'it'll snow in a few days!' and...we get our thermal clothes on and..well, nothing, maybe a hint of frost but there's NO snow outside. Maybe it's that someone at school just pops out saying 'it's a month till christmas' and you go in a frenzy- an excited frenzy- getting all hyped up and ready to go shopping. What ever it is that causes this christmasitus, we can't be sure.
When I think Christmas I think = presents, =shopping and =sweets. I know that's not what you're meant to think of..but i do, I'm sure we alllll think of that. They certainly ARE the highlights of Xmas.
Here are some great ideas for your friends for christmas, just little, under £10 things to add to the big art box or bath bombs or cupcake baking kit to make it special...(soz i couldn't get pictures )
(these can all be found at John Lewis if they're in stock)

So get out, and get buying before the Christmas rush! Just grab a coffee and get shopping ;)
Enjoy Christmas, Enjoy Total Teen style :)
